DAY 2: SPORT & LEISURE - SLJ

Hi everyone, today we have to make another practise activities for our Summer Learning. We already make our first one and I pick the activities and it was about making a profile page about Lorde. But today I pick this activity.

For this activity, please create four new similes. You can use the starters below or you can make up your own.
… is as fast as… (eg: The brand new Ferrari is as fast as a lightning bolt)
… is as tall as…
… is as small as…
… is beautiful like...
On your blog, share the similes that you have created with your readers.
So I have to create a new similes, and it we have to use those words below or we have to make our own word.
The Jamaican runner Bolt is as fast as a cheetah
The Giraffe is as tall as a Raven's tower tree.
The dice is as small as penny or a button.
Thylane Blondeau the most prettiest girl in the world is beautiful like the chrysanthemum flower.

  1. Mōrena Lhysette!

My name is Mikey. I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team this year and I'll be commenting on some of your wonderful blog posts over the summer. I'm so pleased that you've made a start on the teaser week activities. It's good to get some practice in before the programme officially begins on Monday.

You've come up with some lovely similes here, Lhysette. I particularly like the one about the giraffe. I'd never actually heard of a Raven's Tower tree before - I had to Google it! Thank you for introducing me to something new. :)

Do you like creative writing? Your similes make me think you might be quite good at it.

Congratulations again on completing your first teaser task! Keep up the great blogging.

    Bye for now,

    Mikey

  2. Hi Mikey,

Thank you so much for commenting on my blog, also I'm sorry for the late reply, I just come back here in the New Zealand because we went to the Philippines for a vacation and to celebrate Christmas there. I also feel really sad because I didn't participate these year programme, it because we don't have wifi in the Philippines and sometimes I'm busy.

Yes I really love creative writing, even though sometimes it doesn't make sense.

Thank you again for commenting on my blog,I really appreciate it hope you have a great holiday.Bye

    1. Hi Lhysette,

You are more than welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my comment. :)

Wow! What an awesome place to spend your summer holidays! How long were you there for? What did you do? I've never been to the Philippines before so I'd love to hear about all of the 'must-sees and dos'.

Don't worry about not being able to do the Summer Learning Journey programme while you were away - we realise that the holidays can be a very busy time and sometimes it's hard to access the internet. There are three more days left of the programme though so if you would like to take part, feel free to jump onto our website, register and have a go at some of the activities - I'd love to read them. :)

Have a wonderful Wednesday, Lhysette! :)

      Mā te wā,

      Mikey

    2. Hi Mikey,

Thank you for commenting again to my blog and also understanding why I didn't participate this year programme.

About the questions that you ask,we've been there for only 4 or 5 weeks we didn't stay there for so long because my parents need to go to work that's why. Well we went to Philippines also to celebrate my sister 18th birthday. There's a lot of places you can go to like Boracay it was located in Panay Island and it belongs to Western Visayas, you can do a lot of different things there.

I'll try doing some if I have some time, thank you again Mikey for replying to my comment.

      Have a awesome day,Mikey

2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something helpful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
