Compliments - Wananga

Hello everyone, in our Wananga class we have this activity were we need to create something that represent me. Mrs Allan want us to do this because there's a lot of things happening around us like friendships, so what she did is she give us something where we designed it and let the other people gave us some compliments. The design that I planned to put in the paper is my second name and just add some random things and also to colour it to give the piece of artwork some life. First we learned about two different things like the first is about the appearance of people, and the other one is deeper compliments.  And the goal is to give everyone a deeper compliment like how you felt about them, and maybe some positive things to made their days.

How I felt?
Reading the compliment that my classmate gave me was really amazing because it make me special, and I gained more confident to be more brave and to be myself. I feel really happy actually because I never thought that " I'm amazing" and a hardworking person, I never thought of those about myself because I'm just a normal person who had a low profile. I was also surprised and loved at the same time, and that made my day.
Also there's one message that made me really shocked and that is from Mrs Allan, it was because she still remember the time when I was in Primary school and always hug her every time I saw her. I feel really proud of myself because I never thought that the person who I always give a hug will be a awesome and supportive teacher in high school.

How I felt when I gave those compliments?
I have some mix emotion when I was writing this compliments to them first I was really happy that I will make someone smile, and then I have this second emotion that I can even explained. Let say because giving someone who is really special to me made me really emotional, because I can tell them how thankful I am to have them.

Doing things made me really happy because I can open up my feelings and my thought to different person, I wanna say thank you to Mrs Allan for letting us do this. And I really enjoyed it because giving this compliments to them made me really good and also grateful. Having a teacher like her and having a classmate and friends like them, will always made my day no matter what happened. So my goal for this term and also the last term is to be more open, and to be more thankful person.

Visiting Music Suite

Hi everyone, in Week 7 on Thursday we visit the Music Suite for our music session. But first our teacher have to split us half in a groups, so me and my friends are going there in a second half of the period. When we're waiting we have to practise our stomp performance until the end of period 3. When it's time for us to have go and visit the music suite we have to bring a pencil or pen and nothing else. I had fun going in there because I saw a lot of different instrumental like Electric guitar, Acoustic guitar, drums, keyboard ( if you're using the keyboard you can have a chance and play the song Havana), piano, flute, ukulele and saxophone. If you're exploring the music suite you also have to answer the quiz with your partner  that Mrs. Beer gave, it's only all about which family instrumental those the instrument goes to and what can you see in the room that you're into because each room has different instrument in it. If you and your partner done every question you can give it to Mrs. Beer and she's going to check, and every correct answer you'll get 1 stamp so me and my friend got 8 stamp each. When you're done you can explore the music suite until the bell goes, I had a lot of fun exploring it even though I wasn't able to try some of the instrument but after all I learn a lot about the other instrument in the music suite.

Instrumental Music

Today for our Music lesson we are learning about different instrumental families like example the string family, orchestra, percussion, woodwind and the brass family, also the teacher show us the definition of the different families and also some videos of the different members of the family. After we have done watching the videos and learning the definition we have to make a presentation that will include the definition but only in our own words, that's why we need to listen to the teacher properly.
Also at the last part of the slide there's a Music Biography thingy just like what we did last time it also included the name and challenges in their life. It was really fun hope you like it.
Here is the presentation:

Hurumanu - Solar Energy

 Solar Energy

Catching the sun movie

Materials:

  1. Cups x4
  2.  Water
  3.  Tin foil
  4.  2 sheets of white paper
  5.  1 sheet of black paper
  6. Thermometer
  7. 1 large cup

Steps

  1. The first thing you need to do was to get all of the materials that you need and put them down on your table.
  2.  When you have all of the materials go and fill all of the small cups with cold water don't put a lot of water and leave a space.
  3.  After that place a large cup and put it to one of the cup that you have to make it look like a  greenhouse.
  4.  When you've done put 1 cup to a white paper, and the second cup that has a large a cup is also put to  white paper, the third cup has to be put to a black paper and the last cup is with the tin foil.
  5.   Go get a heat lamp and leave all the cups but make sure that the heat lamp has a light on it.
  6.  After that wait at least 15 minutes and after that measure it with a thermometer but every 15 minutes.

Which surface conducts / attracts the most heat?

Cup 1
White paper
Cup 2
White paper+ plastic.
Cup 3
Black paper
Cup 4

30 minutes
17 d 18 d 21 d23 d
45 minutes
18 d 19 d 20 d  22 d

Findings:

In my opinion I think that we succeed but some of our temperatures went up and down which confused us but in our opinion maybe it was because we were kinda close to the door, but the really warmest cup was the tin foil because of the light that is reflecting on the foil and also it was near the heat lamp that's why it was really warm but in a few second when we turn off the heat lamp the cup that is on the tin foil slowly turning to a  cold water again.
Conclusion:

Me and my group have fun doing it and I'm really proud of my group because they try their best doing it. When me and my group we're doing the measure thing was kinda confusing because when we do it some of them are going higher but some of them are getting lower and also I think we succeed because we are almost near at the door and there's a light at the top of the surface which is good but some of the water doesn't change because some of the cups are not near at the heat lamp and I think that's why it doesn't change at all, but after all it was fun and I learn a lot of things.

Climate Change!

Aim: To look at the causes of climate change and how to prevent it.

As you watch the video answer these questions:

What is our greatest threat in thousands of years?
The climate change because there is air pollution and air pollution that really affect our world.
How do we see climate change affecting the globe?
  1.   The Antarctica melting the ice and it will cause the sea level rise
  2.    The heat that will increase a dangerous temperature that will affect us
  3. Super storms like hurricane, typhoons.
  4.   If there's a typhoon in your country there is a possibility that it will cause flood, landslide that will affect a lot of people because it will block people's way roads etc.

What is needed to change history?
We need to take care of our planet, we have to stop cutting trees so our atmosphere can stay strong. We need to change so the animals can live well in our planet.

Is climate change a man made disaster?
Yes, because of what they did, they made something or creating/invent something that will help us to live better
Dramatic action must be made in the next _10_ years to change it?
Animals in the world are keep dying because of the climate change, and if don't help our world
Why is our climate changing?
In my opinion our climate was changing because we cut tree's, the sea level rise, super storms, hot world, drought.
What is causing the warming trend of the climate?
There are things that causing our climate like cars, factories because they realise bad smoke, fossil fuels, and the air pollution.
What is the main problem?
The climate change, the air pollution

What are examples of these?
Cars and factories because they realise Carbon Dioxide.

Burning fossil fuels releases what gas?
When they are burning fuels the factories are realising Carbon Dioxide.

How much hotter now is our world?
1-degrees Celsius

What do we call this global warming?
Climate Change

How is this affecting creatures / animals like bats?
I know the planet was getting hotter and hotter, the mother of their baby are dying and unavailable to survive because of the hotness of our world.

What percentage of species are near extinction?
8 percent in total.
How could this effect the world ecosystems?
If the forest was dry because of the hot temperature all of the animals and also some insects that lived there can't live properly because they are all not used to a hot temperature and there's a possibility that they might die because of the climate change.
What global change was seen and recording breaking last year?
The huge fire that happen on the forest.
How is climate change affecting our weather systems?
1. Fire that increase heat
2.  If it keeps raining it will cause more flooding
3. Storms like rain, huge fire

What is another effect of climate change?
Ice melting, and it can also affect some animal.
What will happen if the ice melts in Antarctica and the Arctic?
It will be flooded, the ice that melt will cause the sea level rise and if that happen there will be no land left.
How does this affect people?
This will affect all of the people because some people are not use to the weather, and they're losing their home because of the flood.
What other things affect oceans change?
The heat because I know that our world was getting hotter and it cause to melt the ice in ocean and sea level rise
What does too much heat do to the coral?
It can kill the corals because of the heat.
Why did some industries not want to stop burning fossil fuels?
It's the only way to get energy like fossil fuels, oil, coal they all produce energy.

Polar bear eat mainly seals but also feed on carcuses of beluga whales. And the baby polar bears eat is bearded seals but when the other food is unavailable for Polar bears will just eat about any animal they can get .

Male polar bears can weigh up to 680 kg but the female is usually only half the size of the male. Polar bears have a 10 cm layer of blubber ( blubber means fat) under their skin to keep them warm.

The Polar bear has a excellent sense of the smell, with ability to detect the seals nearly a mile away (1.6km)

Polar bears can reach some speed up to 40 kph means of KPH is (Kilometers per hour ) or (25 MPH means Miles per hour)  on the land 10 Kph (6 Mph ) in water.

The polar bear have a black skin and although their fur appears white, Polar bear skin is actually transparent.

Polar bears nose is the powerful it can smell of some seal on the ice 20 miles (32 kilometer) away , sniff out of the seal den that has been covered with the snow.

The most important habitats of polar bears are the edges of the pack of ice where currents and the wind is interact , and refreezing matrix of the ice patches and some leads. These are the areas of where polar bears can find the greatest number of the seals.
