Reading

Kia Ora guys, today's blog is the same as my last one. I'm here again to share my another reading work but this time the story is different but the activity is still the same. Because if we've done reading a journal or a story and we have put it in our blog, we now have to do another one. I still pick a journal story and it was about a war that happened years ago, and for me it was historical fiction.  I had fun reading this so I thought that why not make a alternate ending again.

In the story it include two boys named Haora and Frere Jean, Frere Jean lived in the Kororareka while Haora lived in a different village. Their close together and both of them don't have any idea that it was their last meet. Because Kororareka had been attacked, but Haora saw everything because he hide behind a plant. And when the war was the done he made his way along the beach in the morning, the first thing he did is to knock inside Frere Jean house but there's no sounds so he checked everywhere but there's no sign of him.

The only thing he saw is the book it was half buried and it was also burnt, he remember that this book was the one he helped Frere Jean to make. So he hurriedly pick it up and wiped off the dirt and when he opened it he was shocked that the two leafs survived, after looking at it he hold it tight while looking back at his friends house. Then slowly making his way to their village.

Reading this book was fun, and it also made me think where did Frere Jean go? I had the same question with Haora. It took me a lot of time to do the activity because I added some pictures and design it, while finishing the activity I did some research and I found a lot of information of what really happen, it said that the fall of Kororareka was a serious blow to the British, because it lost an estimated 50,000 euros worth of property.

By the way here is the activity that I make.

Reading

Hi again everyone, today I will be sharing you my reading activity from working at home. I was really excited about doing some activity because it include some drawing or even painting which is my hobbies. But first thing I have to do is of course to pick a story from easy to hard and I choose the medium one then you will see three different option like Wild Boy, Dive and Comic Man. After some time I decided to do Dive because it kinda interest me and I'm really curious about it, when I open it I saw a picture that really caught my eye because there's a girl wearing a purple top and a black hair and she was holding a phone while at the side there's a sea snake swimming away from her.

After looking at the picture I started reading it, and a minute have passed I finished reading it and then I will now have to pick a activity but I decided to do two and that is create a piece of art that relates to a key theme from your story or journal article then the other one was think about how your story ended. What would you want to happen if there was one more chapter? Create your own alternate ending. Write a few paragraph to really elaborate your ideas. Doing these activity are really fun but also hard because it took me a lot of time to do.

By the way the author of this journal is Gina Cole and the title is called "Dive", well I kinda love the book because it include some fun stuff and I just love how Eddy was so brave to dive in without safety staff. I also love how the two of them are helpful to each other and giving each other some courage. And reading this book just makes me smile, but I just want to know something " How old are they ?" Why did the author pick Fiji and Auckland as her settings?.
Those are the questions that I want to ask to the author.

Here is the finish product, hope you guys like it.

Story of the Trash!

Hi everyone, and today I'm going to share what we always did when it's Monday period 3, when we have done our morning tea we always come back to our form class and read this story that is called "Trash"and I think we start reading this last Term which is Term 2 , listening to the story was very fun but before we start reading this book we watch a video that is showing some people who is living in a dumpsite or they called "Smoky Mountain" that is full of rubbish and it also tell a story about a kid who is living in the dumpsite in his early age, and also show some country that is suffering because of their small places`1  and also suffering because of the bad smell of the dumpsite and more information. After we have done watching the video our teacher talk to us about what we think of the video how to feel about it, and how lucky we are to have a nice country and also lucky to have a house to lived in.

Information:
The Author of this book was Andy Mulligan which also known as the best writer of the young adult fiction. The story has 3 main characters and they are known as Rat or they called him Jun Jun (that only been for some of the chapters) is a smart, dirty, fast and very sneaky  but very friendly boy.Raphael is the boy who discover the money at the dumpsite, and the Gardo is like a big brother for Raphael because he was always there and help him when he have some problem. They lives in the dumpsite which they called the "Behala" they pick trash in there and always hoping that they can find something that they can sell.

One day Raphael find a bag in the dumpsite and inside the bag there is a wallet and a uniform, etc. The wallet has 1,100 pesos in it. But in the morning the police visit the camp where Raphael and his aunt lived in, and the police went there because they're finding something really important that if people in the Behala find it they will receive a price, and the three kids found that they found something very mystery and important so they give it to Rat to hide it because Rat live in a hole that he always sneak into and they also know that the police man can't find it in there. But Rat recognise something inside the bag and he saw the key to locker at the train station, and he help the boys to go there and find the locker to open it and when they open it they saw a letter that is written by a man name "Jose Angelico", and I think some other things inside of it. They also meet Pia Dante the daughter of Jose Angelico that they taught was dead ( you can read this near to the last part of chapter).
After they're long journey when they suffer and try to solve some problem together they all decided to buy a boat and they plan to spend the rest of their lives as a fisherman.

Waitangi day!!

Kumusta everyone, and welcome back to my another blog post and today I'm going to blog about Waitangi Day and I know that the Wiatangi day is important because Waitangi day is a treaty of Waiatngi.

In our class we have been doing Waitangi lesson in our reading we've been looking for some Waitangi facts and read more about it. We also read some article that show what was Waitangi day is and some detail how the Waitangi happend a year ago. When we read those thing we have to work on some question and some task that is all about what we read on the articles. It was so interesting to find some cool stuff about Waitangi day.

Why does the Wiatangi day celebrate?: Because it was for the significant and reflect the day in New Zealand history, Waitangi day celebrate because to have include protest and conflict.

When does the Waitangi day happen?: Waitangi day happen on 6th of February.

How?: Well it happened when it was sighed on February 6th 1840 and it was signed by many 500 Maoris Chiefs and the British leaders representing the British Crown.

Where?: Well when the treaty of Waitangi is founding document in New Zealand. It was name from the place in the Bay of Islands where the treaty first signed, on 6th February 1840.

But I'm a bit curious and I want to know why does it called Waitangi day, is there any reason behind it why does it called Waitang day?.

 What I learn?:
I learnt a lot of new things about Waitangi day and I learn that the Waitangi day is Celebrate on 6th of February and the Waitangi day become a nationwide public holiday in 1974. Waitangi day is the anniversary of the signing of the treaty of Waitangi which occured in 1840. But you know that in 1947 where the Waitangi day become nationwide public Holiday but on that date the Waitangi name have change to " New Zealand Day". But However in 1976 the new priminister Robert Mudoon changed the name back to Waitangi day.
I learn how the Waitangi happened, when it happened, how it happened, why it happened and what happened.

How I felt?: I felt so happy and proud to myself because now I know some other things about New Zealand and what is the meaning of them. I'm really so happy because I got to learn some of New Zealand history that I haven't know.
