Charlesworth Reserve!
Kia Ora everyone, yesterday was July 3 and that day was very fun and excitement because we went to Charles worth Reserve where we plant some little trees in the mud, well let me tell you a little facts about Charles worth Reserve. Charles worth Reserve is a wetland edge walk it was named after Captain William Charlesworth. He died due to an accident when he helped someone to cut a big tree and accidentally his foot was wounded by an axe. When you go to the Charlesworth reserve you can see a lot of different native tree because I heard that they we're featuring planting because they want he native birds to be there and exploring place.
We go there because it was also part of our Community Impact Project and also other classes, when we got there the teacher introduce to us the instructor his name was Andrew he explain everything we need to do and some history about the Chalresworth Reserve and why they want to native in the place, after we have done some discussion we walk to the place where we have to plant the trees and then we start planting the native trees and I forget the name but I heard that it was called rush tree it was very little and cute, it was so much fun planting tree with Rieya we help each other planting this trees and I think all of us plant 100 trees in that place, and after we have finish the first part we have some little rest and then we go back and Andrew added 70 plants and when we added them we all plant 170 trees in that area, it felt good that help the other to plant it was very fun and I learn a lot of new things. After we have done the planting we all went to another venue but it was also parts of the Charlesworth Reserve and we pick some rubbish all around the place it was very pretty and huge and you can see a lot of native trees around you it was fun cleaning the place.
The classes that came was Whaea Jo's class, Mr Tisch's class and Al's. I was very thankful to Mrs Allan, Rachel, Mr Tisch, Whaea Jo and then the Kiwi can staff I was thankful that they came with us and support us and also help us at everything. I think I will never forget that memories because it was fun and very exciting.
Here is the picture of all of us:

Water Cycle- Science
Hurumanu: The Water Cycle
AIM: TO LOOK AT THE WATER CYCLE AND HOW CLIMATE CHANGE IS AFFECTING IT.
Definition:

Scientific words:
- Evaporation. When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapor.
- Transpiration. Evaporation from plants.
- Condensation. When water vapor cools, molecules join together and form clouds.
- Precipitation. When clouds get heavy the waters falls as rain, sleet, hail, or snow.
- Acidification: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.
We will be conducting an experiment that looks at the different ways that climate change is affecting the water cycle.

THE WATER CYCLE EXPERIMENT
Bag 1: Normal Water cycle
Bag 2: Water cycle with CO2 added: like Oceans in climate change
Bag 3: Water cycle with ice added: like Antarctica in climate change
Material:
- Plastic bag
- Vivid Marker
- 1 cup water
- 2 drops of food colouring
- Litmus paper ( only for the soda water )
Steps:
- First thing you have to do was to get a plastic bag and get a vivid pen.
- The second thing you do was you have to draw on the plastic bag.
- The third thing you have to do was put water on the plastic but not too much.
- After you have put the water in your plastic bag you need to put food colouring on it but only 2 drops
- The last thing you have to do was to stick the bag on the window.
Two Images:
Findings:
In my opinion the water will moist in the bag and it will be a bit foggy in the top, and I also think the water will became less - Evaporation.
For the second there would be more air forming in the plastic bag because when you blow a balloon it will fill up with air, if we did this right the yellow paper will became red.
Conclusion:
In science my group told me that they we're looking at the water cycle, and they learn 4 new words that was about evaporation. They did some research and the have to find out the definition of the water cycle and they have to include the new 4 words that they had learn. In their experiment they include a lot of stuff like the zip lock bag, in the zip lock bag they have to draw the water cycle in the drawing there a piece of a land, in that land there a tree, it has ocean, clouds, the sun, and the rain. It look's really fun doing this experiment and I want to learn more about it.
In the second one it was also the same but there's a special paper called Litmus paper and when we check it the paper will become red.

Planting..
Kia Ora, last week on Wednesday which is week 7, for our Community Impact project we had to pick 6 different vegetable seed to plant on our own garden, and the other people are helping Mrs Allan and make some plum jams so there is 2-3 groups we split into 2-3 groups so the other group are doing some research with the other people and Mrs Allan pick a small bunch group to her to make a plum jams. Let's to talk about the vegetable seed so I have pick 6 different vegetable that can grow on winter because it almost the season of winter and also we only have to pick vegetable seeds not a fruit, flower. The plant that we picked are going to be plant this seeds at the place that we clean last week and that is the compost area but first we have to plant this thing in the egg tray till it sprouts out of the dirt then we will take it don to the school garden. There some reason why the first I think to make our school more beautiful and clean, and also to we plant vegetables because they are healthy for you body and the second purpose was we're trying to improved the school and to make some new change.
The vegetables that I picked was:
1. Carrot- You need to plant
2. Broccoli-They can grow through February and March, and April it is easy to grow but the only problem they need to be avoid is and can only lived beside beans the dwarf bush but bean is fine, but don't plant it by climbing pole beans,tomato,peppers- like chilli and capsicum, eggplant, and strawberries so be careful. Then after 10-16 weeks you can harvest them.
3. Cauliflower- The cauliflower take 3-4 months before we can harvest it and Cauliflower doesn't like the temperatures over 25 degrees, so make sure that you are planting it in the right time.
4. Onion- They can take six to eight months to mature, but you can harvest them if you grow and properly stored mature onions and it will last a long time.
5. Lettuce- When you'r planting lettuce it has to be at least 20-30 cm apart form another plant,it can be harvest n 8-12 weeks but just do not grow them close to celery or parsley plant.
6.Broad Beans- They can grow through March to the end of July, they need to be grow where the place a lot are pollinate since also the broad beans are need to be also pollinate. It takes 18-25 weeks you can harvest them and eat them.

Investigation.
Investigation
You can decide on how you would like to do this investigation. Your presentation could be on the blog, slides, or powerpoint.
Investigate the different Fossil Fuels listed?
- Coal - coal causes global warming, which is combined with extreme weather and wildfires.Climate change is coal's most serious, long-term, global impact. Coal is mostly carbon, which, when burned, reacts with oxygen in the air to produce carbon dioxide, a heat-trapping gas,air pollution form coal can affect the environment very badly because it can affect the public health, because burning coal can affect of your Respiratory.
- Oil
Write a paragraph and upload an image about each of these renewable energies.
Solar
Solar power system procure clean and it has a pure energy from the sun. Having this solar panels it can help your home to attack greenhouse gas emissions and it help to reduce and collective dependence on fossil fuel.
Wind
Wind power would still help the world stop pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which would fight climate change and global warming.
Hydro
Hydro power does not pollute the air or the water and that's good, and that can help the native plant and animals in the river and on land. Also the Hydro power can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions – as well as our dependency on fossil fuels – is by increasing the proportion of electricity that is generated from wind and other renewable energy resources.

P.E HURUMANU.
Kia Ora, everyone today so today we are with the Hurumanu class as usual we are always together like when we are doing art and some other stuff but on Monday we stop our art class and change it to P.E but we will be doing art until Term 4 we because there like a little change. So term 1 or maybe 2 we are doing physical education with the Hurumanu class and do some blogging of what we did and learn so like what I'm doing I will tell you everything I learn. So first start Mrs Allan Fletcher talk to us and tell us what are we going so today on our P.E we we're talking about F.B.N it mean football, basketball, and netball and she explained everything that we need to know and give us some rules of what we have to do and we must follow them. Today we focus on football so our goal was to trap the ball and don't just kick to a random place because she know that we are just going to kick it to a random place. So we have to be in a group of four and practise how to trap a ball and for the another part of our football we have to find another group and play with them at the first start we kinda don't understand what to do so we ask our wonderful Mrs. Allan Fletcher of what do we have to do so she explained to everyone and she want to make that everyone understand it.So we only have to do is to try to trap the ball from the other team and try to chase the ball form them and stop them so they can't go to your base.
So after lunch time we have to go back to the old gym with the Hurumanu class and do some other stuff so what we did is we sit down and listen to the teacher instruction and then after a while they split into two group and this how they split us so they said if we are wearing our p.e top we have to vs the other team after we have spilt up the teacher explain to us some rules and how does this thing work. The name of the game is Multiple Sports( I'm not quite sure about it) and this how it's going to work so the're are some random sport that we have to do but us we only have 3 sports to do and that was the football, basketball, and netball we have to do does thing because that what we learn on our last period, so if the teacher is holding the ball and when he call 5 people he will throw the ball on the centre and 5 people on your group have to go up and vs the other team and if the your group or the other group get to goal the game is done and another round but it was different the teacher will keep calling some number and some people have to do it they are just going to play the bell ring, after the game we have to do a blogging and I was really happy because I learn a lot of stuff and learn some tricks but be careful while you are playing this games.
