Interpreting Graphs

Kia Ora everyone, welcome back to my blog so for today's blog I will be sharing you my last activity for our maths. Because at Monday we are no longer doing online class, but we are now allowed to go back to school. So this week maths work was kinda easy and also fun to do, because it was all about Interpreting Graphs. It include a lot of different graphs like Line graphs, Steam and Leaf, Dot Plot graphs and etc. I had fun doing the line graphs and Steam and Leaf one,and of course  answering the question.

There's a site where we can see the questions some of them only ask 3 questions, and some of them ask 7 questions. It's the same thing like what we did in making end meets, we have to put our answer into the slide. To be honest some of the questions are kinda confusing so I have to compute it, and make sure that my answer is right. It only took me an 1 hour to do this because add some equation how I get the answer, so that it will make it easier  to understand it. Let me tell you about the different questions and what the graphs talk about.

Stem and leaf: This one talked about the students measuring their pulse for 1 minute, and record recording their finding by using steam and leaf graphs. Well your pulse rate is the number of times your heart beats in one minute. The questions are about "What is the lowest pulse rate in the class?", also "What is the fastest pulse rate in the class?". Those are the questions that I have to answer.

Line Graphs : This one talked about numbers of dollars that Sam had in his savings account, from January 1997 to April 1999. The questions are about "How many dollars did Sam have in his account in December 1997?", also "Which months in 1990 did he have $ 80 in his bank account?". This one had 4 fun questions to answer.

Dot Plot Graphs: This graphs talked about the pupils who read book over a week. Well let me tell you something some of her pupils don't read books and someone read over 5 books!. And the questions asked altogether, how many pupils are there in room 6?, also what was the most common number of book read?. It only have 5 questions.

Line Graphs : It talked about a caretaker of he school who measured the temperature of the water in the swimming pool, over 14 days. The graphs include the title and number of the water temperature, and of course the questions asked about what was the temperature on Day Number 3? On which day did the pool have the highest temperature?. It also have 5 questions like the dot plot graphs.

Pie Graphs: The pie graphs shows how Donna spent her $ 10 fr Christmas presents. This one is different from the other graphs because it give you some choices, not like the other graphs. Also this one confused me a lot when I was reading it, but luckily I understand it after a minute have past. The question are like " How much did she spend on her brother Jim?" and " How much did she spend on Sarah?".

Data Tables: The charts shows the temperature readings made at the different times on that four days. Answering the questions are kinda easy but some of them are not, this table include the time, days and temperature.Questions asked " What day was it hotter at midday?" and " What day and time was the hottest temperature recorded?". It have 7 questions for me to answer.

Bar Graphs: The graph include or shows the number of hours of sunshine for the whole week, and it start at November 24 - November 30. The questions asked which day has the greatest number and how many hours of sunshine were there on Monday?. It also have 3 cool questions.

Pictographs: This pictogram shows the different fireworks sold at the Park Avenue store. There are keys like this @ it means ten dollars, and this & it equals to five dollars. Questions are " How much was spent on Volcanoes?" " Which two kinds of fireworks had the same amount spent on them?". It also have 5 questions that is kinda confusing.

I had fun doing this activity, and by the way here is my slide.

My story

Kia Ora everyone, today I will be sharing you my story that I write. It was about horror and why I picked horror as my topic, it was because writing horror is fun but watching horror movie it is not. Writing this story kinda give me a hard time but lucky I finish it in 2 hours, I really try to focus on this because I want to make my story fun, creepy and etc. I included some stuff that I really need to include like Orientation, Complication, Sequence of events and resolution I tried to include all of them in one story. Because for me including them will make my writing more interesting and also if I add Language features. Before I write them I did some research like a haunted forest and some evil name, when I was reading an article Wychwood Forest caught my eyes well I don't if it's true but it say that there's a girl name Amy who mysteriously broke her neck and died. Her husband encountered her spirit in the forest while he was on a hunting trip, it said that Amy spirit told Earl that he would join her in the afterlife in just a few days. That really happen because Earl fell ill shortly after the promise and quickly died. That is one of my reason why I picked this forest because it kinda interest me and also scary.

Then After that I looked for some name that's why my characters name are Messiah, Braxten and Kizzy and the villain Ravana. Ravana is a psycho well let me tell you something Ravana in the past is a normal girl who lived in a peaceful life but she was being bullied with a lot of people, because she lived somewhere dark and don't have any parents. But someday a demon soul decided to control Ravana's body and that's the time Ravana change, she kill people and she trapped them. And now she lived in the forest because the demon inside her know that a lot of tourist go there. By the way Ravana is also a teenager, that's why the the bad spirit decided to just kill teenager people for revenge.

My story is about a group of friends and all of them are a teenagers, their ages are 14, 15,15. The two of them are the heroes but they also didn't make it. I did that because I knew that some of the stories there's always someone who survive so that's my main reason. And my title is called Crazed Psycho.

Making End Meets

Hello everyone, today's topic I will be sharing what I have been doing on my maths work. Learning maths is fun but kinda hard at same time, I have been working on my maths almost a week now it was because our maths activity was really challenging to do. That's why our teachers gave us 2 weeks to finish them, but I'm lucky that I already finish it because my main goal this week was to finish my maths work and put it on my blog. I have been focusing on my maths because I know it will take me a lot of time to understand everything. For me learning new things that I'm not quite sure how to do like adding fractions with unlike denominators. Learning them was really fun, but kinda stressing too.

The first thing we have to do is to learn what does making ends meet, at first I don't have any single ideas at all but when our teacher told us the meaning according to the dictionary. It means to have enough money to buy what you need to live, that's why our challenges is to make our own menu for a week. And each day it must have breakfast, lunch and dinner, it's our job to provide the recipes including a list of ingredients. We have a budget of $200 for the whole week, reading this makes me think that it will be a hard day for me. Because I know that some of the ingredients will be expensive and some of them are cheap.

The second thing I did is to brain storm my ideas for all of my meals, if I can't think of anything there's a website that will help me pick which food should I eat for the rest of the week. I choose wisely and pick three dish because I know that some of their ingredients will be easy to buy. They are called Ham Omelette for my breakfast, Pork green bean and oyster stir-fry for my lunch, Lemon and herb roast chicken vegetable for my dinner. Also I decided to eat other things too because I don't want to eat them everyday so I added Cereal, bread with nutella, pancake with strawberries and rice and bacon.

After brains storming them all, I will now have have to search all of the ingredients that I need. We were lucky that the teachers include Pak'n Save etc, for us to search and now the price. And doing that was really stressing because I keep thinking that what if it exceed my budget, it really give me a difficult time to do but I have to keep going. Because I have a goal to achieve.

When I have done everything I will now put it into my menu items and it include number(250), quantity(ml) and of course the method of the food. It took me a day to finish this because I have to make sure that the method was right and it was put on my own words, second the numbers and quantity I have to research some of them just to make sure. And last but not least my shopping least this one was really kinda fun but stressing too,and I don't why because the first time I did this it was confusing me so I have to watch a video by one of the teachers explaining everything what we have to do.

After a while I finally understand it, I also did the countdown one because I also used it if I can't find the item in Pak'n Save. And that's how I ended it. I did every single task it was because I picked expert and when you pick expert you have to do everything, I pick that one because I just want to challenge my self if I can do it in a week.

Then now I will do some practise about adding fractions, decimals, multiplying decimals and etc. For me it took a lot of time to understand it so I have to ask my sister for help, and to keep watching the video until I know what to do. For me adding fractions with unlike denominators are kinda hard to do but the rest of them are easy to learn.  I was having a hard time doing those stuff but it was worth it too.

Bye guys...

Reading

Kia Ora guys, today's blog is the same as my last one. I'm here again to share my another reading work but this time the story is different but the activity is still the same. Because if we've done reading a journal or a story and we have put it in our blog, we now have to do another one. I still pick a journal story and it was about a war that happened years ago, and for me it was historical fiction.  I had fun reading this so I thought that why not make a alternate ending again.

In the story it include two boys named Haora and Frere Jean, Frere Jean lived in the Kororareka while Haora lived in a different village. Their close together and both of them don't have any idea that it was their last meet. Because Kororareka had been attacked, but Haora saw everything because he hide behind a plant. And when the war was the done he made his way along the beach in the morning, the first thing he did is to knock inside Frere Jean house but there's no sounds so he checked everywhere but there's no sign of him.

The only thing he saw is the book it was half buried and it was also burnt, he remember that this book was the one he helped Frere Jean to make. So he hurriedly pick it up and wiped off the dirt and when he opened it he was shocked that the two leafs survived, after looking at it he hold it tight while looking back at his friends house. Then slowly making his way to their village.

Reading this book was fun, and it also made me think where did Frere Jean go? I had the same question with Haora. It took me a lot of time to do the activity because I added some pictures and design it, while finishing the activity I did some research and I found a lot of information of what really happen, it said that the fall of Kororareka was a serious blow to the British, because it lost an estimated 50,000 euros worth of property.

By the way here is the activity that I make.
