Art

Kia Ora everyone, today is our last week of term 3, and also doing Arts. I really enjoyed since this semester we are looking at photography, and the very first week of art we look at Hannah Hoch she is a dad artist. She was born on 1 November 1889, and she lives in Gotha Germany. But then afterward this dad artist die on May 31, 1978, but the location was a bit different she died in Berlin Germany. Her story goes like this...

In 1936, she bought a house near Berlin and lived throughout the Second World War. She was also praying that all of her neighbors would note her identity and give her away. Then a man named Kurt Matthies was a businessman and a pianist in 1938. Hoch’s darkly playful Dada dolls stand apart from the work of the other artists in the Berlin Dada group with whom she was related. Given that the Berlin chapter of the Dadaists was only founded in 1917, these small-scale sculptural works indicate her awareness of Dada ideas in general since its inception in Zurich in 1916. Hugo Ball, a writer, was most likely an influence on her.  The ball rose to prominence for his performance of sound poetry there, which he delivered while dressed in a mechanical-looking outfit made up of geometric shapes. The costume can be interpreted as a commentary on the contradictory feelings people have about developing technology. At the time, technology was both appreciate and feared as it was both social and economic progress while also posing a threat to humanity.

Her accomplishments: Hoch was a pivotal figure in the self-conscious practice of assembling disparate photographic elements from various sources to create art. This strategy of combining previously unrelated images to make sometimes startling, sometimes insightful connections was adopted by many Dada and Surrealist artists of her era, as well as later generations of post-modern conceptual artists in the 1970s and 1980s.

In art are making photomontage, if you are not familiar with this word. This is a type of process and the end result of making a photograph by using these materials such as gluing, cutting, rearranging, and overlapping two or at least more photographs into a new image. The good thing about this is that you need to use your imagination and be more unique and creative. Also using the images wisely. There is also another similar word for this, and that is collage. Collage is a composition of materials and objects that are pasted over a surface, but photomontage is a single composition series of pieces of paper, photo, or any other media artistic image. For my work, we are asked to make three different collages using the categories of Haute Couture, or maybe we can do anything we want and go crazy with the images. To make this easier for us, she gave us a site that can easily take off the background. This is called remove. bg, this will change everything when you are editing.
