Low poly

Last week, we started with a new topic which is low poly. Our art teacher introduced it to us, and it is a piece of artwork that only uses the shape of a triangle. Simple geometric shapes are combined to create angular, often minimalist compositions. The term "low poly" comes from the term "polygon," which is a two-dimensional shape composed of straight lines and angles. Low polygon art, also known as low polygon art, is a minimalistic art style used in video game design, animation, and illustration that favors simple colors and geometry over details and life-like realism.

I planned on doing a panda since the colors are very easy to find and match with it. I was very satisfied with the outcome, even though some part is a bit messed up especially the part of the body. In the end, it's still similar to its reference.

ESOL - WONDER

Magandang umaga everyone. For the past weeks, we have been focusing on the book wonder. We've started to read this book in term 3, but because of the sudden lockdown, we didn't have the chance to complete it. Luckily, we still have another chance to complete the whole thing and we even get to finish the movie. Our main task for it was to find out what are the differences between the movie and the book, and our reason. I thought that reading this book would be a bit boring, but I was wrong because I quite enjoyed both the movie and even the book.

Differences of the book and its ending :

Book

They describe a new dog named Bear in the book. The principal was aware of Auggie's involvement in the fight following the fight, but this did not occur in the book. Julian was expelled for two weeks in the book. In the film, he was only expelled for one week. In addition, the first teacher in the book was a woman, whereas Mr. Brown was the first teacher in the film.

Movie

The producers of the film do not show you the new puppy named Bear. Auggie sits in the back in the movie, but in the book, he sits in the front. Furthermore, in the film, Summer wishes to shake Auggie's hand. However, in the book, this does not occur. Auggie's hearing aids were lost, according to the book. Also, in the film, Auggie gets into a fight with 7th graders in the woods, which Auggie and his friend win.

Ending

Book - Auggie's mother says in his ear, "Auggie, you truly are a marvel. You are a marvel, "When she does, she's amazed at how well August has adjusted to middle school despite a year of struggle and suffering. He's figured out how to fight his own battles.

Movie - Everyone cheers Auggie as he delivers a voiceover narration (quoting the last precept Mr. Browne gave in class) at the end of the film "Be kind because everyone is going through a difficult time. And all you have to do to find out who people are is to look."

One of the most notable discrepancies in the storyline involves his hearing aids, which are completely absent from the film. His hearing aids fall off and he loses them when the big kids bully them. Getting the hearing aids in the first place was a major deal because he doesn't have them and doesn't want them at the start of the book because he thinks he can hear great and is afraid they will make him look stupid. He fails the hearing component of his annual exam and is fitted for special hearing aids. He first despises them and refuses to wear them, but once they are activated, he discovers how awful his hearing was. Following that, he has no qualms about wearing them in public.

What I enjoyed about the film was that it followed the same plot as the original, although it omitted a few key parts. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't care for the actor's makeup because it made me see Auggie in a whole other light. They missed the HEARING AIDS and the key things in the nature retreat trip, which is one of my three points of distinction! Because we didn't know how he got them, how he felt, or how his mother would react if he lost them, the hearing aids were the thing that made the entire nature retreat exciting and emotional. They didn't notice Amos slamming into Eddie and Auggie's jumper ripping in half. I was disappointed in how they staged that moment. Auggie's sweatshirt had a small rip in it. I expected Daisy's death to make me cry, but it didn't.

Neither the book nor the film became favorites of mine, and I'm not sure I'd watch or read either one again. Reading Normal made me appreciate Wonder's work much more. To teach children to treat everyone with kindness, regardless of their appearance, because everyone is going through difficulties, some of which are more visible than others. That doesn't imply you should be extra nice to individuals with "disabilities," but rather that you should be nice to everyone and attempt to see things from their point of view. This ties in with the final statement, which states that everyone deserves a standing ovation because everyone has faced difficulties in life.

To be honest, I think it's a tie. Neither one, as it was stated, "took my heart." Though, in the end, I think I preferred the book. It provided additional perspectives than the film, which I appreciated.

Finally, I respect the author's courage in writing about this. After the experience she had with her kid, she assumed responsibility for looking into it and conducting research. It's a major deal if it helps people treat others with kindness, regardless of how they appear or what their background is. I wouldn't discourage anyone from reading it, and I believe it would be beneficial to children.

In extra, I've also created a Venn diagram to make this book extra special. Hope you enjoyed it.

Color Run

Nov 26 on Friday, an activity that happens once a year. It is the "Kidscan Funrun", and it takes place at the school field. Unfortunately, it is supposed to take place in kyle park but since there is some crazy stuff that is happening next year. This color run includes 4 different year groups and is Yr 7 - 10, and when you do it they are not by year group but instead, they both put yr 7-8 and then, on the other hand, they combined yr 9-10. We do this to fundraise for the KidsCan, they are a group that provides food, clothing, and health items to every child in New Zealand. Their vision is to ensure every childless fortunate has the same opportunity as the others to take advantage of their education. They want the children to the best start in early childhood education.

KidsCan is New Zealand's leading charity dedicated to assisting impoverished Kiwi children. By participating in Kilometres for KidsCan, your school will provide practical assistance to thousands of children, giving them the opportunity for a better future.

-Children who are hungry will benefit from nutritious food that will help them concentrate and learn.

-Waterproof jackets to keep kids warm and dry on their way to and from school.

-Sturdy shoes and socks that will allow children to safely walk to and participate in school.

-Basic hygiene and health supplies to keep the school community healthy

My friends and I, planned on wearing a white shirt and participating then especially enjoy that day. Since they will be yr 11 next year, so they wanted to experience it for the last time. I was happy that I have the chance to run with them, and do the obstacles. This is how it works, everyone has to run for 2 laps and on the first lap we just have to run normally, then secondly on the last lap dyed color will be thrown at us, and do each of the obstacles. In the obstacle, there is a bouncy castle, hurdles, tires, a water slide, and lastly a cargo net. On the first lap, we actually planned to just jog all the way and then walk for 2-3 minutes. It was quite tiring since it's been a long time since I run, and my body doesn't really favor it but the good thing is not even a single muscle hurt. The last lap was my most favorite part since dyed colors will be thrown at every single one of us and even water. My least liked, was getting wet with cold water and then crawling underneath the net also probably when the color went through our ear and the hair. It takes days to take them out, which is really frustrating but it was still worth it.
In addition, when the other group isn't running then they have a different activity so they would not be that bored while waiting for their turn. They can play tug of war, and then also it would ad points on each of the kahui.

After our turn, our shirt is filled with these beautiful colors. Then my friends and I went to get some water, then after drinking, we had a water fight which is probably the highlight of my day. I can see that they are having fun, and enjoying every single thing that happens around them.

Foot Print Analysis

Forensics, this week our main topic was analysing our own prints. Our task today was to teach everyone what we have been doing, and tell them how things work. At first, we look at the evidence, and now we are looking more further around the impression evidence. Impression evidence will only be created when two objects come in contact with enough force to cause an"impression". In a simple sentence, impression evidence is when there are many types of evidence left behind at a crime scene. Impressions are patterns left being on the surface or people at crime scenes.

Examples
~ Fingerprints
~ Shoe prints/footprints
~ Tool marks
~ Tyre tracks
~ Ballistics (bullet mark)
~ Bite marks

Yesterday, our class went outside to do this activity and make these footprints. It was really easy to do this since all you have to do was to get a piece of paper, a tray with black paint with a small amount of water and lastly water to clean the bottom of your shoes. Then you can make your own footprint by steeping on the paint tray. Also one of the important things is to walk from heel to toe of paper. You will also have to do it again, since when it isn't that wet then it will make it more visible to see your patterns and you have to leave it to dry.

Shoes leave impressions at the scene of a crime known as shoeprints, which can be extremely useful to a forensic investigator. As a person walks, the sole of a shoe picks up various types of material, which is easily transferred to other surfaces, creating an impression that can reveal the pattern on the sole. To detect shoe prints, investigators examine the soil, particularly near the potential entry and exit points of a crime scene, as well as carpet, linoleum, paper, and dust. If a shoe print is discovered in a pool of blood, it can be used as incriminating evidence.

In this picture, there is a variety of different types of shoe patterns. I would best describe my one as lines&circles. Since I don't have the evidence, I would like to use this picture as an example since it is also
similar to my shoe pattern. As you can see, it's most likely to be only lines, but it still goes with it. We all have different types of shoes and especially the size of them. People stand in a variety of ways, as illustrated by the image on the right. We can explain the different types of shoe prints using the image below. Knowing the shoe pattern at the bottom allows us to determine the size of the shoe, the brand in some cases, and the age of the shoe.

Forensics

Forensic science, today our only task was to summarise everything up that we did on our first week of a passion project. Explaining what we have focussed on and how it fits into forensic science, we have to include crime scenes, the law, evidence, and observation skills. Then afterward we have to try and use the lawyer paragraph structure to write our summary, which will be our main goal this week.

Lawyer Paragraph

~ State your point - say what you are trying to convince us of

~ Why it matters - Say why your point is important: 1-2 sentences

~ Evidence - Deliver your evidence to prove this in 3-4 sentences.

~ Sum up - Write a simple sentence and drive home your idea: 12 words or less.

My paragraph:

Forensics is all about scientists comprehending out and collecting evidence from a crime scene. One of the main importance of forensics science is having the right data. You can't find the suspect when you don't have the evidence in your hand, proof s about determining whether a crime has been perpetrated. You need to commemorate properly to find the right evidence. This matters because forensic sciences are a critical way of the criminal justice system. It is important because without evidence and without a forensic scientist, then you will not be given the justice that you needed. This examines and analyzes evidence from a scenario of a crime scene, develops injective findings that are able to assist the investigation and pursuance of perpetrators of learning an innocent person from suspicion. Summing everything up, forensic science plays a critically essential role in our lives and even in society. It is about intelligence and evidential to assist in the delivery of justice. Forensic ensures our safety and even public health.

  • What is Forensic Science? Why do we need it?

  • Who are forensic scientists?

    • What are some of the jobs they do?

    • What types of evidence to they collect from crime scenes?

    • What is genetic profiling?

The criminal justice system relies heavily on forensic science. Forensic scientists study and analyze evidence from crime scenes and other locations in order to produce objective results that can aid in the investigation and prosecution of criminals, or exonerate an innocent person. Evidence is collected from crime scenes by crime scene investigators. By gathering and evaluating evidence, forensic science technicians assist criminal investigations. Many technicians are experts in either crime scene investigation or laboratory testing.

Forensic science is essential to a functioning justice system, which is a cornerstone of civil society. Other areas where forensic science plays a significant role include the investigation of local and international incidents, national security, and public health and safety. One of the most crucial components of any criminal investigation is forensic science, which can help authorities accomplish everything from positively identifying a suspect to pinpointing when and how a crime occurred. The criminal justice system relies heavily on forensic science.

Criminalistics, or forensic science, is the application of science to criminal and civil laws, primarily on the criminal side during criminal investigations, as defined by legal criteria of admissible evidence and criminal procedure.

During the course of an investigation, forensic scientists collect, preserve, and analyze scientific evidence. While some forensic scientists go to the crime scene to collect evidence, others work in laboratories, analyzing materials brought to them by others. Others work on financial, banking, or other numerical data analysis for use in financial crime investigations, and they can be employed. Forensic scientists use their scientific knowledge and abilities to help the police solve crimes and discover or eliminate criminal offenders. They may also do research to improve or enhance forensic techniques.

Fingerprints, footprints, tire tracks, blood and other bodily fluids, hairs, fibers, and fire debris are all collected by crime scene investigators. The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) funds projects that aim to improve: Blood and other bodily fluids are identified at the scene. Drug and explosive detection in the field. Fingerprints are by far the most prevalent sort of physical evidence found at most crime scenes, but there are a variety of other types of evidence to identify and gather as well, including biological and trace evidence, and also evidence left by the use of firearms or other weapons. At crime scenes, forensic experts gather or process trace evidence such as hair, skin, blood, or sperm samples. Hair, bodily fluids, and fibers are just a few examples of what might be found at a crime scene.

There is a small quantity of DNA in the human genome that is unique to each individual. It is feasible to create a character profile of DNA bands for individuals by cutting a sample of DNA into fragments and dividing the fragments by size.

DNA profiling is a technique that can be used to determine paternity or to assist in the investigation of crimes where the suspect may have left a sample of body tissue at the crime scene.

It can also be used to compare distinct species for categorization reasons in other organisms.

DNA is frequently found at crime scenes. It can be found in the blood, the skin, and even the hair. Once the victim's DNA has been retrieved and suspects have been identified, DNA profiling can be used to pinpoint a suspect's location at the crime scene. The DNA profiles of both the newborn and its mother must be known in order to determine paternity. For paternity to be established, every band detected in the baby's DNA profile that cannot be attributed to the mother must also be present in the father's DNA profile.

Why?

DNA profiling is a highly sensitive and precise approach for identifying individuals and finding relationships between them. It's also become a necessary instrument in the legal world, where it's used in criminal investigations, paternity and custody issues, and immigration proceedings. This procedure is known as DNA profiling, and it is used to determine paternity. It can aid in the investigation of crimes in which the culprit may have left a sample of body tissue at the scene. It can also be used to compare distinct species for categorization reasons in other organisms.

Their Jobs:

Generalist forensic science technicians, often known as criminalists or crime scene investigators, gather evidence at crime scenes and conduct scientific and technical analyses in laboratories or offices. They may also evaluate DNA, drugs, and other evidence acquired at crime scenes using computers.

Technicians are indeed the utility players of the forensic science field. They aid in the gathering of evidence, conducting analyses, and assisting in the investigation of crime scenes. Often termed scene of the crime technicians or crime scene investigators, forensic science technicians undertake much of their work either on the scene or in a laboratory.

Technicians that specialize in evidence collecting must have a keen eye for detail. They may also assist other forensic scientists and act as liaisons with other professionals.

Despite their celebrity and acknowledged ties to organized crime, several of the most well-known gang leaders in the United States were eventually brought to court for financial and tax offenses. The first forensic accountants were important in bringing Al Capone to justice.

Forensic accountants are trained to follow the money trail and specialize in financial crimes. They work to prevent fraud and safeguard bank accounts. In addition, forensic accountants aid courts in determining awards and damages, as well as identifying and investigating terrorist funders.

Engineers that work with machines and structures are known as forensic engineers. When a bridge collapses for no apparent reason, forensic engineers investigate the cause and discover the cause. They can detect foul play and distinguish it from structural breakdown caused by aging and neglect.

Forensics Science ( Evidence )

In Forensic Science, we are learning more about what is evidence. This is for our passion project. Our task was to create a DLO or a poster about us explaining our knowledge of what is evidence, and two different types of evidence. I have looked more deeply at this topic because I was really keen on learning more about, different variety of evidence that forensic scientist uses. I have created a slideshow about our main topic today.

Is it a crime ?

Kia Ora everyone. We started our passion projects, and this will be my first blog and this is all about forensics which is also about science. Our very first task at this point in time was to do a task, around is it a crime. We are given 6 different pictures, and we have to tell if it is either a crime or not. In this task, we can be working in a group but I have chosen to do it alone, but discuss it with a friend of mine.

First picture -   But it would not be considered as a crime when the owner of the stuff is giving them permission to take it and do whatever they want. Larceny is another term for theft. In general, the offense occurs when someone unlawfully removed and carries away another person's property with the goal to permanently deprive the owner of it. You've been charged with either petty theft or big theft if you've been arrested for theft.

A hit-and-run is a crime that occurs after an accident, rather than as a result of it. A hit and run occur when a driver involved in a car accident fails to: stop at the scene of the accident. Offer assistance to anyone injured as a result of the accident. You may face charges of animal cruelty or failure to inform property owners of harm. Although laws differ from state to state, you should always come to a halt after striking a dog or other domestic animal. If the owner is there, you may provide them with your information as you would in the event of a car accident.

Robbery is defined as the illegal seizure of another's property by force or threat of force. Robbery does not occur without the use of force or the threat of force. Theft is a broad phrase that encompasses all theft offenses, as well as burglary and robbery. The taking of another's property by force or threat is known as robbery. Larceny by threat or force is also a term used to describe it. Robbery is a more serious crime than many other theft offenses because it involves injury or the fear of injury

As you can see in the image of this picture, we can tell that someone was dying at the hospital bed. Well, it would be considered a crime when someone tends to commit and murder the person with poison. Just then, it wouldn't be called a crime when she/he was just taken from the above without no one knowing. For me, it actually depends on the situation of the person, because police and doctors can tell what has actually happened to the patient. Poisoning food, drink, medicine, or water that the criminal knows will be consumed by humans is a crime.

In the picture, this would be considered a crime because the Trace Evidence Unit (TEU) searches for and examines various types of trace materials that may have been transferred during a violent crime. Human hair, animal hair, textile fibers and fabric, rope, earth, glass, and architectural materials are all examples of trace materials. Also to support my idea, we can tell that someone has murdered that person because of the blood on the left side of the chest. There's a high possibility that the murderer stabbed or either shot the innocent person.

In the last picture, this wouldn't be considered a crime. Because it is both of their faults, that two drivers accidentally hit each other but if it is only one driver who didn't do it in purpose then. She/he would be responsible for the damage. Then, on the other hand, it would be a crime when an assassin was asked to do it on purpose just because of the money, it would be a crime because it can sometimes be called murder.
When two cars collide while pulling out of a parking area, neither has the right of way. This means that each driver is in charge of his or her vehicle's movements. Then all parties are equally accountable and should either agree to split the whole damage bill or fix their own vehicles.

Human Rights

Another different session for our social studies work, we started with chaos,.. and then lastly we moved on to human rights. Every term we change the topic and this term our only focus is on human rights.

Questions :

1. What do you think about human rights?

Ans: Well for me human rights are all about equality, a life without any discrimination from other people, no racism, and lived freely, right educations. Also, human rights cover freedom, expression, thoughts, and religion. Then we lived how we wanted to.

2. Who do you think has human rights?

Ans: Human rights belong to every individual around the world. From birth until death. Everyone has it because they rule their own world, they have their beliefs, and how they want to choose to live their own life. Not someone ruling her/his life.

3. Why do you think human rights might be important?

Ans: Human rights belong to all of us because we are all human. Key values in our society such as fairness, dignity, equality, and respect. Important means protection for every single one of us, especially the ones who face torture, and isolation. Without human rights, we will not be able to live how we wanted to.

4. Can you think of a time when you or someone you know wasn't shown human rights?

Ans: Probably for me the only thing I know who isn't showing human rights, was the bully in the school. Why? Because they sometimes control the life of the person who they always picked on, they tell them not to tell the teachers or else they will receive more bad suffering. Every student has their own rights, they have the right to speak up, and the right to be also heard by others.

Ranking :

To live

To live freely

To have an education

To have clean water and food

To not be tortured

To have a religious belief

To have a free speech

To have a fair trial

To get married

Term 4, we are moving on to something new but it is still related to human rights. The point of this blog is to collect all of our work in one blog and summarise everything at the end. For this term, we are looking at 5 different case studies. We can choose from the dawn raids, discrimination against minority groups in NZ, ethics, and robotics, and more. At first, we looked at Parihaka as our first inquiry task and also our practice task. We learned a lot about different tactics and the proper way of referencing and collecting data from different websites. I have chosen discrimination against minority groups, I have chosen it because I wanna learn more about different things. I was happy that I chose this study case because I learned more about the issues of Asians, and different people's stories. I was happy that I was able to finish up everything... In addition, there are 5 different topics from his case study, all we have to do is to answer the question and share it on our blog.

LINK

Now that our session has come to its end, we needed to summarise everything we have been doing, in the very first half of our session in Human Rights. We learned about child labor, and also we look at a book named Iqbal. This is actually a good book because it is based on a true story. Written by Francesco D'Adamo. Iqbal was all about a group of children who were fully forced to do jobs while they were still young. They engaged in slave labor, weaving carpets in Lahore, Pakistan. This novel tells the story of a child named Iqbal who changed everything in the lives of every child who suffered from labor. Once Iqbal arrives, he has the courage and convinces all the other children that they need to be responsible for their own escape or they can just want to stay slaves forever. Then after that, we have some inquiry tasks about different topics, but so I choose to learn more about Child labor. So I tried making a slideshow more about Child labor. Furthermore, we have another inquiry task but it is most likely to be our practice run. Because this is when we learned new skills, such as doing a dot-jot method and referencing.

The dot-jot method is a very useful resource especially when you are taking notes. The rule for it was to place one dot per line, only write one idea per line. the very main thing is that only jot down the most important ideas of the text.

For today, the very last task we have to was to write a paragraph about our chosen human rights topic. I chose to do women's rights, but it is mostly about Women in Victorian Britain.

According to traditional Victorian gender roles, women's rightful place was in the home – the private or domestic, sphere – where they were subordinate to men as daughter, wife, and mother. Women were viewed primarily as a man's helpmate. Women were forced to rely on men because society was built in such a way – legally, politically, and economically. Women's rights were severely restricted during this time period, with women losing ownership of their wages, all of their physical property (excluding land property), and all other cash they earned once married. When a Victorian man and woman married, the woman's rights were legally transferred to her spouse. During Queen Victoria's reign, a woman's place was in the home, as domesticity and motherhood were deemed sufficient emotional fulfillment for females by society at large. In most ways, these constructs kept women out of the public sphere, but charitable missions began to expand the female role of service during the nineteenth century, and Victorian feminism emerged as a powerful political force.

The sexes now lived in what Victorians called "separate spheres," only coming together for breakfast and dinner. Separate Spheres ideology was founded on a definition of the 'natural' characteristics of men and women. Women were thought to be physically weaker but morally superior to men, making them best suited to the domestic sphere. It was not only their responsibility to counterbalance the moral taint of the public sphere in which their husbands worked all day, but also to prepare the next generation to carry on this way of life. The fact that women wielded so much power at home was used to argue against granting them the vote. Unmarried women and widows were permitted to own property and possessions. However, as soon as they married, their possession as well as any money they owned were moved to their husband. Children also were his property, and the man could expect parental rights of his children in the event of a divorce. If the wife was proven to be innocent, she was granted custody of children under the age of seven beginning in 1839. This was raised to sixteen in 1873, but the father managed to remain the sole legal guardian even then.

Provided the restrictions imposed on married women, it is reasonable to wonder why unmarried women with property or significant possessions would choose to give up everything. Since it is widely assumed that a woman's place in the nineteenth century was in the home, women did work in a variety of professions. However, attitudes towards work were influenced by class. Women from the upper classes were not required to work. Working-class women, on the other hand, were frequently required to earn a living and contribute to the running of the household. They were limited in the type of work they could do, and they would usually do manual labor such as domestic service, laundry, needlework, factory work, or agriculture. Needless to say, even if they did the same job as men, they could expect to be paid less.

We can all take part in the fight for women's rights. Despite the fact that the world has changed and women now have more freedom than ever before, we still have a long way to go. To put it another way, the fight is far from over. For example, Little Women it’s a novel written by Louisa May Alcott. This book can relate to the issue because for the longest time we women have been oppressed and looked down on we are seen as- we are figured as weak and fragile so I want to put it out there because that book signifies that a woman does not need a man to succeed in this world. Women can succeed as their own ad stand as strong individuals. and for people to read that book and understand then I would think that it would be a great platform for woman empowerment and that’s what I want I want people to reflect on.

First and foremost, we must raise our voices. We need to make a statement about the issues that women face on a daily basis. Begin a discussion on social networking sites or inform people if they are misinformed.

Don't be a bystander to violence against women; instead, take a stand. In addition, to learn more about it, volunteer with women's rights organizations. Furthermore, it means allowing you to contribute to change through it. Women's rights are critical for everyone all over the world. It benefits everyone in society, not just her. When women are granted equal rights, the world can progress as a whole, with almost everyone playing an important role. Women would have not been able to do something really basic as a vote if there were no women's rights. Furthermore, it is a game-changer for women who face gender discrimination. Women's rights are important because they allow women to get an education and earn a living. It gives them independence, which is necessary for every woman on the planet. As a result, we must all work together to ensure that women's rights are respected everywhere.

Science project

The term is coming to an end, and probably this will be the last session that we will be together as a class after this lesson. We have passion projects, and we all have a different opinion about what we would love to do for the rest of the term. Unfortunately, we haven't been informed of what we are doing. This week was actually busy for us since we have lots to get done so I am not allowed to keep on procrastinating and just stick on being productive. So that in the end I have nothing to worry about. For our science project, we have to choose a house plan, there are three different grades and you have to choose your own one. I choose to do LE which stands for Level Exceeded, I wanted to push myself and have a better result at the end of this project. Then after choosing your house plan, the rooms you needed to have will be required for my one we have to add 5 rooms, and then choose how many bulbs we wanted to put around the whole house. I again choose 12 bulbs, because I was really keen on pushing myself and thinking outside of the box. After that, we have to make a report of everything we did, so I'm here to share it with everyone.

Here is the link to my report.

Physical Education - Gymnastics

Hola everyone, today for P.E  I will be sharing with you my experience with gymnastics. For the past few 4 weeks, we are focusing on gymnastics since last the time for P.E we did badminton, we always change different activities, which is also enjoyable and fun. In gymnastics, we 6 different apparatus, and some of them might be familiar. They are called the bar, beam, parallel bars, mini-tramp, floor/mat, and trampoline. There are a lot of challenges I've been through since I'm not the type of person who is very flexible and capable of doing this type of thing. To be honest, I actually regret not doing something new because I was scared and stopped myself, the only thing I'm scared about is that I might get injured. So maybe next time, I will try and force myself to try out something that I haven't done for a while.

They're probably not a lot of things I've achieved because all I did was stand, but I still tried my best and overcome some of my fear. Especially when I was doing the horizontal bar, and also the parallel bar. It was one of my favorite thing to do for the whole session of gymnastics because I quite find it easy but also hard at the same time. It was because I don't always have the strength to pick myself up. My most hated thing to do is probably the beam, I was somehow noticed that I tumble a lot when I was up there because it was high and my mind is thinking of something horrible which didn't help me a lot.

I have included my assessment. I was happy that I did some of them, but still not quite proud of myself because of cowardness.

Labour Weekend

 Kia Ora everyone,

Today we are asked to create a blog about our labor weekend break. In this task we are asked to include a couple of pics after you're written, but if we don't have pics, we can just be copied and pasted to illustrate aspects of your my text. This labor day happened on the 25 of October. The only thing I liked about this holiday, is that I get to have 1 break from school which is a great thing because I can spend time with myself., or with my family...

S P I L E S - mnemonic is also known as a pattern of letters, ideas and is a way of remembering something

S - stands for social activity( friends and whanau )

P - stands for physical ( e.g bike riding, running, sport )

I - stands for Intellectual ( e.g something you did to extend your thinking & learning such as reading, watching a demo on youTube, etc.

L - stands for Like ( things you enjoyed doing )

E - stands for emotional ( what sort of emotions during the break... happy, sad, frustrated? )

S - stands for success ( things I did that were successful e.g cooking, building something )

On Sunday the 24 of October, My family and I and my dad's family friend went to the beach. I actually forgot where it was, and what' the proper name of the location. Our main reason was, to pick up some clumps, but unfortunately, we didn't even find one so instead of finding some we just played with the water and enjoyed nature for 30 minutes straight.

I was so happy, that I get to spend time with my family outside the household and be grateful for everything. Then after that, we went to another location to see if we can find some clumps but we still didn't. The worse thing about it is that we have to walk on mud and I was actually scared that I might slip and it hurt my feet since it was non-stop talking. Still, I enjoyed it because we laughed all the way, and make fun of each other. The physical thing I did was walk for 2 hours it was boring, but in the afternoon we went to go swimming and just relax our whole body since the parents need their body to rest and have some time to themselves.

The intellectual thing, I did was finish up my essay. Well since I did nothing on a Saturday night, I planned on writing an essay so that I don't have to worry about writing them the next day. Since I wanted to have a lot of time hanging out, not worrying about any work. I don't want to keep on procrastinating, so I tried being productive and sitting on the chair not getting distracted. Then afterward, I just read my bible and went to sleep. Likes, I really enjoyed running around the sand with my sister and the kids, also running from the waves is the most fun part and the highlight of my day. I liked it because I get to experience being a kid for some time. The second thing is that I really was overjoyed when we went swimming since it's been a long time so I give you all I've got and have a favorable day.

Emotionally that day the first night which is on Sat I was really frustrated and forced myself to finish up every homework. I was tired the whole night, but luckily on the next day, I actually have time to go out and take a deep breath and enjoyed the waves and the calm breeze air. Success, the only thing that I succeeded in was finishing up every homework and being grateful for what I have in my life.

ESOL - My Holiday

Kia Ora everyone, today in ESOL we are asked to write how we feel about the holidays. In addition to this, we needed to add how things went. In this blog, we are asked to include physical activities, intellectually, and lastly emotionally.

The first three days of my holidays went a little bit crazy since I got my vaccination. At first, everything was pretty normal since I can still wash the dishes, and do other chores. But as a matter of fact that I always feel tired and my eyes and body are heavy, which makes things harder for me to move. The second day is way worse than I ever imagine since at midnight I couldn't sleep properly my hands are very heavy it's like I got punched twice, and every time I move I have to support it so that it would hurt less. But, the thing I hate about it is that I couldn't do things properly at all. So I will only use my other hand to do things I was asked for, but the thing I liked about it is that I don't have to worry about going to school since it's a holiday and I can rest. The first week, went pretty normal I eat, do chores, rested, and then slept. Then repeat. Intellectually, I actually did a little bit of reading to feed my brain with words. The thing I liked about reading is that it keeps my mind refreshed, and I also sometimes learned new vocabulary and how to actually pronounce it.

The second week of the holidays, was more exciting because I get to play badminton with my sister and also even volleyball. We always spent our time together using our phones, so we thought of why not try going outside since the weather is always nice and we don't want to waste it. After playing, we then always plan on playing on our phones with our cousin who is currently in the Philippines. Then time passed by, my friend and I planned on going out. We went to the mall, the first thing we did was to check every store just to treat ourselves to a little gift. After that, we eat and then talk about how's our day going and what is happening in our lives we talked about those types of stuff. As well as that, we both don't know where we're going so we just watched a movie called Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It was a good movie, and I really enjoyed watching it with her.

I really enjoyed the holidays, since I get to treat myself better and rest more. Since sometimes school is very draining, and we always need some time to look after our self and enjoy what freedom actually means. I was happy, that I also get to hang out with my family but especially my sister. We always love to do things together.

Art

Kia Ora everyone, today is our last week of term 3, and also doing Arts. I really enjoyed since this semester we are looking at photography, and the very first week of art we look at Hannah Hoch she is a dad artist. She was born on 1 November 1889, and she lives in Gotha Germany. But then afterward this dad artist die on May 31, 1978, but the location was a bit different she died in Berlin Germany. Her story goes like this...

In 1936, she bought a house near Berlin and lived throughout the Second World War. She was also praying that all of her neighbors would note her identity and give her away. Then a man named Kurt Matthies was a businessman and a pianist in 1938. Hoch’s darkly playful Dada dolls stand apart from the work of the other artists in the Berlin Dada group with whom she was related. Given that the Berlin chapter of the Dadaists was only founded in 1917, these small-scale sculptural works indicate her awareness of Dada ideas in general since its inception in Zurich in 1916. Hugo Ball, a writer, was most likely an influence on her.  The ball rose to prominence for his performance of sound poetry there, which he delivered while dressed in a mechanical-looking outfit made up of geometric shapes. The costume can be interpreted as a commentary on the contradictory feelings people have about developing technology. At the time, technology was both appreciate and feared as it was both social and economic progress while also posing a threat to humanity.

Her accomplishments: Hoch was a pivotal figure in the self-conscious practice of assembling disparate photographic elements from various sources to create art. This strategy of combining previously unrelated images to make sometimes startling, sometimes insightful connections was adopted by many Dada and Surrealist artists of her era, as well as later generations of post-modern conceptual artists in the 1970s and 1980s.

In art are making photomontage, if you are not familiar with this word. This is a type of process and the end result of making a photograph by using these materials such as gluing, cutting, rearranging, and overlapping two or at least more photographs into a new image. The good thing about this is that you need to use your imagination and be more unique and creative. Also using the images wisely. There is also another similar word for this, and that is collage. Collage is a composition of materials and objects that are pasted over a surface, but photomontage is a single composition series of pieces of paper, photo, or any other media artistic image. For my work, we are asked to make three different collages using the categories of Haute Couture, or maybe we can do anything we want and go crazy with the images. To make this easier for us, she gave us a site that can easily take off the background. This is called remove. bg, this will change everything when you are editing.

ESOL - End of Term reflection

Good morning/evening everyone, today in ESOL class we started with a listening test. This is kinda bit fun since we don't have to do much work for this hour, and for my result, I was quite happy with how it comes out. For my end-of-term reflection in ESOL, well we did tons of reading and writing tasks. But for the past few weeks, we have been silently reading this book called "WONDER" since we didn't get to read it whole we are on lockdown. We are doing, what we missed out in lockdown so we continued it. For me since, I'm almost finished with the book. So I think that it was a great book since it has some lessons in life. Such as no matter what you look like, just be yourself and be confident.

We are also doing some tasks around this book, and I find it fun to do it on my own time. But also in school when I'm doing work I like to talk with other people and discuss things with them. Even though some of the tasks take so long, I don't really mind as long as I finished them on time. The good thing about doing this stuff is that we have to critically think, be creative, and just have fun. Like when you're reading a novel, it will improve your vocabulary and it will feed your brain with words which is a very great thing. The best lesson I have had is that when the teacher is reading to us, I really enjoy it since all we have to do is to listen really carefully and remember the most important part of the plot. I also find it very relaxing, and very peaceful but sometimes I quite find it a bit boring. I also enjoyed doing, group activities, and also watching a movie.  I like doing group activities since I have the chance to communicate with other people and talk to them, even though we're really not that close to each other. Communicating with others is a good thing, I get to find new friends and also boost up my confidence. Talking to others takes a lot of courage, since the one you are scared of the consequences, two you are afraid they might make fun of you. I would probably try to be more confident when I'm presenting in front of the whole class, and I will also try to improve my listening skills and stay awake. Because sometimes I feel really tired and don't have the energy to do work and it wouldn't help me to stay focus and finish up my work. To also pay attention to the whole class, and especially to the teacher. I enjoy doing ESOL this term, and I can't wait to do it again next term.

Science ( Electricity and Electroplating with copper )

Good morning/evening everyone, today for the end of our topic for science. Since it's the end of term 3, and probably we will be moving on to something new and different topics. Our science teacher gave us some different topics, we can choose from but it needs to be related to electricity because that was our focus topic only this term. I can't choose a topic between what's the difference between parallel and a series circuit, and how does lightning work. So I made up my mind, and look about how does lightning work. Also, this is related to static electricity.

At this point in the hour, for our last session in Science, we did an experiment that is called electroplating with copper. Well, it basically means a type of process of plating a layer of copper electrolytically on any type of surface in an item. The process is that the copper will physically flow through the item, and that is reduced to the metallic state by gaining the electrons.

Experiments steps:
 - In a group of 3 to 4, then if you found a team. Gather together a Power Supply, 2 wires with clips, Copper Sulfate solution, Copper, Beaker, and safety glasses. Or any item you wanted to plate.
- Secondly, put your clips onto the positive and negative terminals of your power supply. Attach the copper to the positive wire and the metal you want to plate to the negative wire.
- Put the copper sulfate solution in a tall beaker and put the copper and item in the solution. Avoid the clips entering the solution.
- The last step, is that set your power supply to  6 Volts and remember to turn it on! And level it for several minutes.

Result/Discussion:
The result is actually very interesting, from what I can see is that after leaving it for several minutes. You can see that it will form a thin layer, solid, metallic copper that is spreading all around the surface of the item. Copper in the Blue solution was Cu 2+, with an electrical current turned into Cu ( which is the orange metal ) on the negative electrode.

Electrons can be managed to knock off the atoms of one object and stick to the atoms of the other when two materials rub against each other. Objects that lose electrons become positively charged, while objects that gain electrons become negatively charged. If somehow the charge difference, known as the voltage, is big enough, electrons are attracted from one object to the other in order to cancel it out. All through thunderstorms, ice crystals in the clouds rub together, leading to a positive charge at the top of the cloud and a negative charge at the bottom. Whenever the charge difference will become very large, the electrons moving at the bottom of the cloud move through into the air to the positively charged ground immediately below it, resulting in the spectacular bolt of lightning. It is worth noting that one bolt of lightning contains enough energy to power a tiny insignificant town for an entire year.

Then I also looked at maglev trains:
To move, the world's fastest train employs electromagnetism. Maglev trains use powerful electromagnets to suspend themselves a few millimeters above the track. In addition, maglev trains do not have engines. Instead of engines, they are propelled along the tracks by the changing magnetic field. A maglev train through Japan has reached a maximum speed of 581 km/h, but if those run into tunnels with no air to slow them down, they could one day reach speeds of over 6,000 km/h.

A connection between both electricity and magnetism, including when an electric current or an alternating electrical field generates a magnetic field, and whenever a changing magnetic field tends to produce an electric field. Electromagnetism has been the science of control and the forces and fields that accompany it. Electromagnetism includes both electricity and magnetism. Electric charges, whether at rest or in motion, generate electric forces.

I got all of my information from a book, that my Science teacher let us have read it. I have enjoyed looking at these different terms.
