FOOD GROUPS - SCIENCE

 Last two weeks, we have been looking at the body and all the food groups we need to to stay healthy and fit, but we are more focusing on water. Like how to prevent dehydration, and stuff. 

Carbohydrates : Sugary or starchy foods that are found in cereal,s, grains, fruits and root vegetables. Carbohydrates provide energy. 

Proteins : Found in foods such as meat, fish, eggs and pulses. Proteins are needed for growth and repair of muscle and other tissue. 

Lipids : Found in foods such as milk, cheese, butter and margarine. They are needed to provide energy, to insulate our organs and for making cell membranes.

Minerals : Minerals are chemical that help release energy from food or assist with chemical processes within our bodies. Minerals include chemicals such as iron, calcium and iodine. 

Vitamins: Are chemicals we need in small amounts to keep our bodies functioning. We get a lot of vitamins from fresh fruit and vegetables. Vitamins cannot be made by humans, so they must come from our diet.

Fibre : Its a nutrient we cannot break down. It helps to keep food moving and cleans the digestive system. It also acts as food source for " good" bacteria in our gut. 

So now we have to create a poster of some advantage about water, and today I worked with a buddy to help me think and we also can think - pair - share. We picked 5 things that we find, so important about the water.
